The short answer
A Curacao licence comes from another regulator, the Curacao Gaming Authority (CGA), which licenses, supervises and enforces against online gaming operators in Curacao. The Gambling Commission complaints rules, the route to an ADR provider and GAMSTOP belong to sites licensed in Great Britain, so these casinos sit outside them. What our checks of each casino found is set out further down. Whether a Curacao licence is legal for UK players is a separate question, answered on Is a Curacao licence legal for UK players?
What the CGA can do when a licensee breaks its rules
The CGA's compliance and enforcement policy (version dated 31-03-2026) names these measures:
- instruction
- order under administrative coercion
- order subject to a penalty
- administrative fine
- suspension, revocation or amendment of the licence
- referral to the Public Prosecution Office for criminal offences
The CGA works up an escalation ladder. The first steps are usually not legal action: a conversation, an observation of the situation or a verbal warning. If the violation continues, the measures become more drastic, and the last step is revocation of the licence or criminal prosecution. For minor violations the policy starts with a warning or instruction.
The CGA does not settle disputes between a player and a casino. Its online gaming page says it does not handle individual complaints against gaming providers, is not a civil court and cannot order an operator to pay a player. It does treat complaints as possible signs of a breach by an operator, and it says it will not disclose the status of investigations.
The enforcement register lists actions that affect the status of a licence. It prints 32 entries: 31 are Revoked and one, Bellona N.V. (OGL/2024/1314/0526, effective June 25, 2025), is Not extended by the CGA. The register says it does not include all enforcement measures, may not be fully accurate or up to date, and that no rights can be derived from it. These are the entries with the latest effective dates, in the register's own words:
| Licence number | Licensee | Effective from | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| OGL/2024/240/0682 | Common Square N.V. | July 10, 2026 | Revoked |
| OGL/2024/102/0932 | Brictec B.V. | July 09, 2026 | Revoked |
| OGL/2024/132/1011 | Black Hawk Technology B.V. | July 09, 2026 | Revoked |
| OGL/2024/1790/1174 | Novatech Solutions N.V. | May 22, 2026 | Revoked |
| OGL/2024/373/0120 | KYS Enterprises N.V. | March 05, 2026 | Revoked |
| OGL/2023/220/0113 | Bravalla B.V. | March 05, 2026 | Revoked |
What the register status of a licence tells you
The online gaming register prints a status word at the end of a line. A line with no status word ends in its expiry date. These are the counts from our register summary of the 666 lines, in the register's own words:
| Status word | Register lines |
|---|---|
| Assessment in progress | 289 |
| Indefinite | 209 |
| No status word | 60 |
| Expired | 58 |
| Revoked | 50 |
By licence number prefix, 626 lines begin OGL and 40 begin CGA. By company type, 571 are B2C and 95 are B2B. Some lines print a status word with other spelling or capital letters, and we counted each with its status. We add no meaning to these words that the CGA does not give.
The CGA's register page says its overviews do not guarantee the current validity of the licences, that licensing status may change over time, and that no rights can be derived from them. On 7 October 2026 the CGA said its online gaming portal will not be returned to service and that the validity of existing licences is not affected. It also said its current digital seal will be affected and that an alternative way to show a domain is licensed will follow. How to read a register line is set out on The CGA register explained.
What our checks found
Our team tests the casinos we review and checks each point here against the regulators' own pages and the casinos' terms.
Betmac
Its pages name Sefiarray B.V. as licensee, company registration 155219. The matching register line is line 138: licence number OGL/2024/842/0350, B2C, issued 25-Jan-26, expiry 25-Jul-26, status Assessment in progress (register PDF updated 9 October 2026). Sefiarray B.V. has no entry in the enforcement register. The casino has its own page, the Betmac review for UK players.
TrustStake
It names the same licensee and company registration as Betmac, so the same register line matches. See the TrustStake review for UK players.
MyStake
We found no licensee or licence number on its pages to look up, so there is no register line to match. The check is written up in MyStake licence check for UK players.
Hadesbet
The outcome is the same as for MyStake. The licence check page for this casino is Hadesbet licence check for UK players.
Checks to make before you sign up
- Find the licensee's name, company registration and licence number in the casino's terms. A casino that prints none gives you nothing to look up.
- Search the CGA online gaming register for that licensee or number. The register lists licensees by company, so match the company, not the brand name. Read the line and its status word exactly as the register gives them, then look for the licensee in the enforcement register too.
- Read the restricted countries in the terms.
- Read the withdrawal limits and the withdrawal conditions, including the identity (KYC) checks, before you deposit.

Safer gambling
A casino abroad is never a way around a self-exclusion. Registration with GAMSTOP runs for a period you choose, from 6 months up to 5 years, and you cannot cancel it during that period. The Gambling Commission says it is your responsibility to stick to your self-exclusion agreement.
Bank blocks stop card payments into online gambling accounts, and blocking software can stop access to gambling websites on your devices. You can call the National Gambling Helpline free on 0808 802 0133. More tools and support are on Responsible gambling for UK players.
Questions
Is a Curacao licence a real licence?
It comes from a real regulator. The CGA has been responsible for licensing, supervising and enforcing online gaming since the National Ordinance on Games of Chance came into force on 24 December 2024. It is not a UK licence, and the register says it does not guarantee that a licence is currently valid.
Can I complain to the Gambling Commission about a Curacao casino?
The Commission says it does not resolve or make decisions on complaints about gambling transactions, and its guide tells you to complain to the business first. Separately, it takes information in confidence about suspicious activity, including unlicensed gambling and criminal activity.
Does GamStop block Curacao casinos?
No. Its block applies to gambling websites and apps licensed in Great Britain, and a Curacao licence is not one.
How do I check a Curacao licence number?
Search the CGA online gaming register for the licence number or the licensee's company name. Numbers in the register begin OGL or CGA.
If you think we are wrong
Corrections can be sent to info@curacaocasinosuk.co.uk. When a casino changes a term, or a fact on this page is wrong, our team reads the casino's own page or the register again and corrects this page. How we check is set out on How to check a Curacao casino licence.
